LETTER
Goodbye, Laurent
It's hard to believe Laurent Robillard-Cardinal had been with the Bulletin for only five years! Maybe it was because he was such a prolific writer - in both English and French, that made me think he had been there longer. He was definitely deserving of his award-winning status. I met him just the one time, in the Bulletin office as I was bringing in my granddaughter's birth announcement, just a few months ago. He was very gracious and kind as he introduced himself to me and acknowledged my contributions to the "Jack Couture" (letters) Page over many years.
Please give him my best wishes as he moves on. In his final piece (Editorial Page), he didn't indicate his future plans, but can I presume he is moving on to a local daily newspaper? (I say "local" since the title of his last piece was "See you around, Aylmer", so he's not going far away.) It would be a shame if he was giving up journalism.
