LETTER
“Good call, Bob”
In reference to Bob Rouselle’s letter (January 11, 2017), I have to say “good call, Bob”. Using words like common sense, logical, dangerous to bikes and motorists, and so on, may fall on politically correct deaf ears, but some people might actually hear or read it and make a good decision. Too many people take a stand and refuse to back down on these topics, despite the logical data right in front of their eyes.
I don’t think winter tires on bikes are the answer, however, as that really only solves part of the problem. Since you (read bikers) can’t control what motorists do on slippery ice and snow-covered roads, I suggest – on bad weather days – take a bus, car, or stay home!
Take a page from the owners of motorcycles and park it for the winter. You can save the planet starting in April (March – if global warming comes early).
