--- Gatineau Police arrest woman in connection with infanticide in Hull

The Gatineau Police Service (SPVG) have begun an investigation following the discovery of a body of a baby in an apartment on rue des Étudiants in Hull, according to statement released by the SPVG on January 18.
The police responded to a call on January 16, at 11 p.m., concerning the possible discovery of a baby’s corpse. The police ruled it a suspicious death and set up a perimeter at 15 rue des Étudiants, in order to conduct their investigation.
The male complainant was taken to the police station to submit his statement and a 26-year-old woman named Karoline Berger was arrested. Berger appear in court on January 17 and was charged with having committed contempt, indecency or indignity towards the corpse of a newborn.
An autopsy was conducted on the body at the Laboratory of Forensic Sciences and Forensic Medicine in Montreal on January 18. The police investigation is ongoing.
