Gatineau invests $792,600 for 32 new affordable housing units on Eardley Road
At the October 22nd City Council meeting, the City released funds for the construction of 32 new affordable housing units on Eardley Road at the site of the former Aylmer Food Centre.
The city has allocated $792,600 for this project, which has already begun construction, and has also committed to the Société d’habitation du Québec, an estimated $55,072 over a five-year period for the 32 rent supplements provided for in this project.
In an interview with the Bulletin, the neighbourhood councillor, Audrey Bureau, said she was extremely pleased with this development, arguing that “there is a waiting list for affordable housing in the area and it is good to see that things are finally starting to change.”
