Gatineau appoints new territorial director for Aylmer

The City of Gatineau has appointed Geneviève D'Amours as territorial director of the Aylmer service centre. D’Amours has been working for the City for the past five years. She first held the position of Department Head for Community Planning and Development, within the Recreation, Sports and Community Development Department. She had been interim Director of the Recreation, Sports and Community Development Department for over two years.
Previously, D’Amours worked in the Quebec health and social services network for 19 years and held management positions for five of those years. The new territorial director holds a bachelor's degree in human sciences with a major in psychology from the Université de Montréal as well as a master's degree in community psychology from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM).
“Ms D'Amours' appointment is good news for residents of the city's west end. She has the experience and skills necessary to ensure the continued development of the Aylmer service centre,” said Luc Bard, the previous interim Director General of the City of Gatineau who was recently replaced by Simon Rousseau. “She is a leader who takes a collaborative and constructive approach. These characteristics are major assets in building relationships, as much with the municipal councillors and the various representatives of the City’s departments as with the partners."
