Fundraiser for l’Autre Chez Soi in memory of Angela Di-Stasio
Angela Di-Stasio was killed by her husband after having left him, in the spring of 2014. She had moved in with one of her adult children, his wife and newborn grandson. Now, after two years of grieving, her children, family and friends gathered April 21 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Aylmer to raise money for the women’s shelter. Organized by her daughter-in-law, Amélie Boisvenu, the event was an evening of personal care with chair massages, make-up artists and stylists; women gathering to support each other and raising money. After all the money was counted, almost $3,800 was raised in cash. “So many Aylmer businesses donated gift certificates or volunteered to be on-site,” Ms Boisvenu told the Bulletin. “We all miss her every day.” Her childhood friends from Otter Lake addressed the room with memories of their friend.
