Fresh water usage
Since we live in a country and region surrounded by fresh water lakes and rivers, it is difficult for many to understand that fresh water is one of the biggest environmental problems facing the world today -- and it is getting worse. Look around, unlike years gone by brown lawns are now by far the norm and many actually look quite nice. Seldom do we see residents watering their lawns, and limiting car-washing has improved noticeably as well.
Kudos to those many Aylmer residents and businesses who understand the importance of limiting our use of fresh water.
Bob McRae, Aylmer
