"Freedom" ?

 

The actions of the .”Freedom Convoy” drivers are analogous to a butcher pointing his knife at the throat of a person and politely asking for his wallet. Using the knife to cut his meat is OK; his knife at a person’s throat, not OK! Truckers have the right to use their 18-wheelers for hauling; they do not have the right to use them as weapons to achieve a political goal. Drivers who use their vehicles for illegal purposes should have their driving privileges suspended, in addition to whatever other infractions they might have committed.
    The irony that this minority of truck drivers seem to miss is that their desire for their particular (peculiar) concept of “freedom “ is at the expense of the freedom of the majority of the population. The freedoms that we enjoy are thanks to our democratic process which is based on one-person, one-vote, resulting in policies that benefit the majority of Canadians. When a minority can impose their will on the majority, the result is totalitarianism or anarchy. But, then, perhaps that is the goal of some of the people joining the demonstration...
