Free legal advice from volunteer lawyers
The YBM's Legal Helpline is back for its 38th edition. On April 23rd and 24th, citizens will be able to receive free legal advice given by telephone by volunteer lawyers and notaries. This free service for the Quebec population is set up by the YBM, in partnership with the Barreau du Québec and the CAIJ.
More than 4,000 calls were received and processed last year as part of this initiative. This clinic also informs citizens of the various methods of prevention and resolution available to them to settle their disputes. Indeed, recourse to participatory justice, through conciliation or mediation, makes it possible to prevent conflicts or to resolve them more easily, hence the importance of putting these remedies forward.
