Felling uprooted trees: a warning
Uprooted trees and knocked over trees are exceedingly dangerous. Using a chainsaw or axe on these trees by anyone other than a trained professional is not recommended. Damaged trees can hold tension that, when released by force of axe or chainsaw, can bounce back with lethal force. This happened last year in the Wakefield area when a child was tragically killed by the bounce-back of a knocked-over tree that was worked on by chainsaw.
Following the September 21 tornado, Aylmer properties are sites of hundreds of damaged trees. Authorities warn that only trained people should be working on them, and with no one nearby that can be hit by quickly-moving branch and tree re-bounding. There are arborists advertising in this edition, these local professionals are reputable specialists.
