Great news for triathletes, open-water swimmers, and all swimmers!  If you swim an average of three times per week, you will have to pay $324 for a shortened season, compared to $80 for a parking pass that covered the full 2019 season.

This latest NCC policy discourages all but the wealthy from taking advantage of Gatineau Park.  Public health messages constantly tell us how important it is to remain active and practise physical exercise, but this elitist NCC policy is nothing but a deterrent for swimmers.  Furthermore, it comes at a time when indoor pools are closed and carpooling is not possible among those outside our “bubble.”

Our taxes pay the salaries of those who make unfair decisions about the use of our natural resources.  To whom are these people really accountable?
