Exhibit launched at Bouquinart
The opening of the exhibit of works by Nicolas Garant was at the Bouquinart Bookstore and Art Gallery. It runs from May 2 to June 30.
Included at the event was a round table discussion on the theme, “What can we do in our city?” The panel was historian Roger Blanchette, artist Nicolas Garant and citizen Stefan Haag.
During the first week of May, and for the second year in a row, Gatineau hosted the Ville Lire festival. Presented in several Canadian cities, this festival’s aim is to celebrate books and literature and to stress the importance of reading. But far from being limited to the places and media traditionally associated with the book, this event encourages us to widen the horizon of reading by placing it at the centre of our daily lives, to make it a tool of wonder and understanding of the world around us.
This event is presented as part of Gatineau Ville Lecture 2018. Bouquinart Bookstore and Art Gallery is located on Principale Street, across from the library.
