Excessive speeding

The Service de police de la Ville de Gatineau (SPVG) agents intercepted a driver for excessive speeding last August 5 around 1 am on Pink Road, between Klock and Vanier Roads.

Police radar registered a Toyota Celica vehicle speeding at 174 km/h in a 70 km/h zone. The 21-year-old driver and Gatineau resident was alone in the vehicle. He was issued a $1,819 fine and 24 demerit points may be added to his permit. His vehicle was towed away and his driver’s licence suspended for seven days. Alcohol was not involved in this case.
