Election Reform

 

I would like to add my name to those who have expressed disappointment in PM Trudeau's apparent 180 about-face on the subject of electoral reform. Leading up to the last election, the promise was that would be the last we saw of the "first past the post" style of democracy in federal elections. Although the Liberals did not get my vote I thought the next federal ballot I cast would be weighted differently and for that I was thankful.

It appears the PM now believes the populace is so enamored of the current government, we can dispense with that election foolishness. I hope he comes to his senses soon. Can he not see that for all his talk he is adopting the identical philosophy of the idiot south of the border who says he will respect the wishes of the electorate "if he wins"? If Trudeau is really who he portrays himself as, such a comparison should shame him.
