Ducks, eagles, hawks, wax-wings . . . in Pontiac
November 5 is “Adventure in the Mid-West” (of Pontiac). The Club des ornithologues de l’Outaouais (COO) invites the public for a morning run with many stops between Breckenridge, Luskville and Norway Bay (or even further). The run will visit many habitats: Ottawa River, fields, marshes, escarpment. We could spot diving ducks, turkeys, bald eagles, fringillids and latecomer passerine migrants, as well as some boreal visitors (hawks, shrikes, waxwings, larks, pipits, longspurs, buntings).
Rendez-vous : From Aylmer, 7:30 am at Tim Hortons restaurant on Vanier street, close to Boul. des Allumettières (collective car pooling can be organised) or, in the Pontiac, 9 am at the ferry dock in Quyon. Opportunity to lunch in Norway Bay or Shawville. We’ll be on the way back between 1:00 pm and 2:00. We speak English. Your hosts : Daniel Toussaint (819-561-2458) and Claude Martineau (819-777-7060).
For information about our activities (mostly open to everyone), contact the COO at our web site www.coo.qc.ca .
