Diverting compost from landfills

 

I believe the city should first encourage home composting, since it’s more environmentally friendly than having a truck driving around picking it up and transporting it (where?). If backyard composters were free or heavily discounted, more homes would try, and they would end up with humus perfect for more flowers.

If there’s a fee on our tax bills to cover city composting, how about cutting it for those with home composters?

BTW, our composter works all winter long, just slower.

MNA Andre Fortin: this is a provincial law; where is the provincial funding to cover it?
