Disappointed with WQ school board’s bus policy
We live in Aylmer north, which is a rural part of Aylmer (large lots so houses are not close to each other, like in town), and the school bus has always picked up our kids at our house (for over 22 years); but not this year. Our request has been denied (due to the Board’s Transportation Policy). This was never an issue in the past, so why this year? I was told that the bus driver will have to backtrack -- I see it adding an extra two-three minutes. We pay our school taxes every year, yet my kids have to walk to a designated stop, not visible from our home and in front of another student’s home where this student vapes and/or “rolls a joint” while awaiting for the bus in the morning! How can this be safe and healthy for the wellbeing of my daughters? If he wants to vape and roll, why do my kids have to see it?
Everyone who has always approved our request in the past has been contacted and is aware of the situation and yet my kids still have to walk to the designated stop. So unfair!
