Des Allumettières has a speeding problem
Housing starts have increased in the past year to over 3,000 households in the Vanier and Pink road area with apartment condos which increase the cars on our streets. The traffic from the Plateau at Vanier and Pink Road is absolutely heavier going towards St-Raymond on des Allumettières from Vanier road.
The speed limit from Vanier to des Grives roads is a whopping 90km, causing major noise, speeding and racing from the Vanier light to des Grives – and too many accidents!
Many individuals take advantage of the traffic lights at Vanier to make this a racing start for motorcycles and fast cars.
If you live between Vanier and des Grives and your yard is adjacent to des Allumettières, you will not be able to hear anyone because of the noise.
The city needs to reduce the speed limit on des Allumettières between Vanier and des Grives roads to 70km like it is everywhere else, to reduce noise and speeding. And more policing is needed to control the speeding until the city reduces the speed limit.
The excessive noise on des Allumettières between Vanier and des Grives should let the city know that speed limits need reduction along this stretch of Allumettières.
