D’Arcy Symmes students engage with climate crisis action

Here we are in 2020, we’ve been talking, experimenting, arguing and living climate change long before I was even born.  In January 2020, five students participated in an educational protest action representing the frustration youth feel today.  Natural disasters have wiped out towns, villages, and islands devastating numerous communities worldwide. Climate change has destroyed wildlife and eco-systems.  

Yet, we still continue harming our environment, feeding into the destruction and harm that climate change has exhibited.  We all know from the worldwide protests and movements that have been happening, that youth have been standing up and demanding to be heard, but strong enough action has been denied by world leaders and politicians.  We need to be heard, our future and our children’s future is at stake and we will not let somebody else deny us from having a safe future and a safe life. How many more people have to suffer; how many more ecosystems have to be destroyed; how many more people have to die for world leaders to speak up, to take action, to ensure that we have a future to dream about?
