Cuts to Aylmer’s postal services?
Looking for excellent postal service? You can be part of the solution, if you use the Canada Post office located in the IGA mall. If we don't use it, we lose it.
What Canada Post’s head office doesn't want you to know is they are trying to close more postal offices.
If we continue to ignore the real post office at this location and give all of the business to the Jean Coutu (outlet) we can kiss goodbye to Canada Post and we will be at the mercy of unqualified, underpaid, untrained individuals, who are employed by the pharmacy (private company) and not by Canada Post, as you may have been led to believe. If the real Canada Post located in the IGA mall continues this way, we will lose the services of qualified postal service workers, who know and care about your letters, parcels, stamps, money transfers, etc.
Canada Post has been cutting jobs. One of their biggest offices in the Outaouais, Gatineau’s, was closed down a few years ago. That led to a loss of many jobs for our postal workers. What they have been replacing them with are these so-called post outlets that are in places like pharmacies. Just as they are trying to phase out mailmen, they are trying to remove post offices.
Please spread the word to use the actual Canada Post Office located in the IGA mall -- in the back. Many people don't know that there is one here. It has been there for years! Let's demand some signs, so that we will start remembering that they are there.
There are jobs at stake. The crown corporation is trying to make cuts at the expense of the people.
Wonder why your packages always end up at the Jean Coutu postal outlet? That is part of the phase-out plan to rid Aylmer of this real post office. If this is an issue that you feel is important, please contact the Canada Post head office and start asking questions. Here is their exact address and number:
Canada Post, 203 Chemin Aylmer at (819) 684-4911.
Becky Leigh, Aylmer
