Courtesy on the bike paths
My wife and I have been enjoying everything that Aylmer has to offer this summer. Especially the bike paths both walking and on our newly acquired E-bikes. We have noticed that we are not the only ones. E-bikes are extremely popular with the older generation, of which we are a member. Having cycled the path for years, we have noticed an increase in traffic -- and an increase in speed. While walking today we were startled by a group of cyclists who approached us from behind at a high rate of speed. As they passed us ( at least 10) I noticed that many had bells, which they did not use. To all cyclists, please use common sense and as a courtesy ring your bell or yell to your left or a gauche and, if needed, slow down while passing pedestrians. Dean Shantz Wychwood / Aylmer
