Controversial poster in Old Aylmer removed
A poster warning Old Aylmer residents of the possible presence of an alleged pedophile has been removed from hydro poles recently, notably one near the Rapido corner store. A photo of the man was included with the poster, along with his first name and his hometown.
Police indicate that since the accused appears, according to information on the poster, to be scheduled to face charges this fall, he is considered innocent until proven otherwise, making the posters a violation of his rights. Police also said that the people who taped the poster to the pole with the headline “Be aware pedophile so close to home” could be sued by the person on the picture who has suffered prejudice.
