Executive Committee
Construction of the Ruisseaux Trail
At an executive committee meeting on May 29, City Councillors awarded a contract in the amount of $576,515.87 to Nugent Construction Inc. to carry out construction work on the Ruisseaux trail.
The construction of this pathway is part of the cycling network master plan that seeks to enhance the development of efficient infrastructure for active transportation.
This new trail will follow the Ruisseau des Fées to Boulevard du Plateau, for a distance of 950 metres.
The other resolution adopted by Council is the awarding of a contract in the amount of $104,224.84 to the paving firm Gadbois for the development of a trail at Parc d’Orsay in the Plateau district.
This trail will connect Orsay Park to Frankfurt Street, allowing pedestrians and cyclists to go directly to the Amérique française school.
It is a two-metre wide rock dust trail. Development work will begin shortly.
As part of this last resolution, it is also planned to add furniture and shrubs to promote the elimination of invasive shrubs.
Work is scheduled to begin by the end of 2019. (Trans.: BA)
