LETTER
Conservatives target their enemies
Jason Kenney, the newly elected Premier of Alberta, is threatening to attack Leadnow’s people-powered movement.
In the final days of the Alberta election campaign, the Conservative leader announced that as Premier, he would launch a taxpayer-funded legal assault on groups like Leadnow who oppose his far-right, toxic oil agenda. And then, during his victory speech broadcast on national TV, Jason Kenney specifically threatened Leadnow again.
Leadnow follows every rule in the book. We have nothing to hide. Our people-powered movement that’s challenging big oil and fighting for a future for all of us, is having an impact -- and it’s frightening the far-right.
Kenney’s threats are nothing more than an attempt to silence our members. He’s striking at the very heart of the idea that everyday people have a voice in our democracy.
