Comedians in politics? 

Last night I lost my cool talking to a friend who supports the Peoples Party (Max Bernier). He couldn’t or wouldn’t -- so can anyone, anyone out in Bulletin-land please -- explain why “conservatives” don’t want a society more caring and more helpful to each other?  

“It costs too much” was his answer,  and that doesn’t work, considering all the money we subsidize the oil companies and other American corporations with.   Why are corporate subsidies not an “expense” while sanitary products for high school girls in underprivileged areas are “too expensive” (his big example).  I’m serious.  I’m losing my mind trying to reach out to conservatives! Help! 

Or are they just kidding?
