Colourful tenth anniversary for the Aylmer Rainbow Chalk Festival
The commemorative park at the corner of Main and Broad Streets were chalked up in rainbow colours this weekend for the 10th edition of the 2SLGBTQ+ Chalk event.
Several politicians were on hand at the event at the beginning of the election campaign to support this community and observe the works of art and words of encouragement written in chalk on the park grounds.
Reading workshops and a large picnic were offered to satisfy the minds and appetites of the participants, with the presence of the Pedal to Compost initiative to ensure a simple and effective way to compost food and paper plates during the event.
Rainbow Chalk, which took place on August 24, attracted a large number of participants to the park during this weekend that marked the 2019 Gay Pride Weekend.
