École du Village, the LOUP winner
Eighth edition of the Mini-tennis Festival
Nearly 100 third-grade elementary pupils picked up tennis rackets on April 13 and 27 to take part in the eighth Mini-tennis Festival, organized by the Association régionale de tennis de l’Outaouais (ARTO). Six schools took part, five from Aylmer. Lord Aylmer School was participating for the eighth time.
For this tournament, each school has eight teams and 16 players each. Each school must also have at least four girls’ teams representing a minimum of eight girls. Matches are played on eight badminton courts. In all, 96 matches were played and each match lasted 10 minutes. Within a group, the school that earns the most victories wins the tournament.
Parc-de-la-Montagne won in the DRAGON banner while the École du Village won in the LOUP banner.
Each school also received a small banner and an additional small banner was awarded to the school that finished in second place. All the players received a souvenir sticker with the logo of their group banner for their participation.
