Clearing streets of snow?

 

Since I have been living in Aylmer (1989), I have never seen such efficient snow removal on my block! Must have been that a neighbour complained about the gullies and ruts of snow on the street? This causes ice to build up and creates driving or vehicle problems. Our lanes are also reduced.

At one time, the city workers would work in teams. The plow would scrape up the ice on the road, leave it by your laneway and then a backhoe would remove it and you were then clear to drive in!

Not this year, I guess different measures and staff are now in place?

This has been a winter of snow but where has my service gone? Gone from Aylmer. Hello Gatineau!
