City meetings adjusted for COVID-19

With the propagation of COVID-19 making its way to the Outaouais, the Ville de Gatineau has decided to temporarily modify its monthly municipal council and executive committee meetings to respect recommended social distancing measures.

According to a press release issued by the city on March 16, citizens will not be allowed to attend municipal meetings, until further notice. However, they are encouraged to view them on live broadcast or the recorded version on the Ville de Gatineau website. They can also participate by submitting questions by e-mail to greffe@gatineau.ca.

The meetings will still take place inside the salles du Comité at the Maison du citoyen.

For municipal council meetings, only Mayor Maxime Pedneaud-Jobin, Daniel Champagne, chair of the municipal council, and necessary staff will be in the room to keep the number of people present to a minimum. The remaining council members will participate via teleconference. During the question period, the Chair will receive questions by e-mail, read them out loud and let councillors and the mayor answer them.

For the executive committee, only the mayor and chair Cédric Tessier will be present, accompanied by necessary staff. All other members of the committee will participate via teleconference.
