Chevaliers de Colomb work with L’Autre Chez-Soi to help Victims of Domestic Violence

The Chevaliers de Colomb, Council 5281, made a contribution of $500 to L’Autre Chez-Soi; the cheque was donated to the Director General of the organization, France Dubois, on Friday, October 29.
L’Autre Chez-soi is an organization that provides women and children who are victims of domestic and spousal violence a safe environment. This year, the Chevaliers de Colomb are working with Dubois and asking the general public for their contribution and donations of gifts that are valued at around $20, in hopes to enhance the Christmas experience for victims and their children at L’Autre Chez-Soi.
Donations will be accepted at the Chevaliers de Colomb office, located at 78 rue Principale, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 1 pm to 7 pm.
The presents will be given to the families on December 17 at their office. The Chevaliers plan to add a Christmas tree to the festivities. If enough donations are made, they will be shared with six other shelters directed for women who are victims of domestic violence in the region. More information on the event will follow.
