Chalk festival: kids paint the sidewalks with chalk
Over 1,000 students from seven area schools participated in beautifying the sidewalks outside their schools, June 8. The Optimist Club provided snacks, drinking water and chalk for the kids in their effort to support more community involvement on the part of youngsters. Aylmer Optimist Club president Raymond Pitre explained to the Bulletin why the club is behind this street art activity: “Kids get so much from being involved in their community, and if we help give them opportunities early on, they grow to be active and collaborative people.”
