 Centre aquatique Paul-Pelletier - extended closure

 

Am I the only person in Aylmer concerned and not a little irritated that Centre aquatique Paul-Pelletier remains closed? If I understand correctly, the swimming centre closed in November due to concerns that the augmented ventilation system in place could not cope with the cold weather. We live in Canada -- how could this not have been anticipated earlier? Why is the pool still closed with no indication on the Ville de Gatineau web site when it will be re-opened? How have the other pools in Gatineau managed to stay open? Swimming is a key exercise for many of us -- especially in winter. When it is functioning, the Aylmer pool is a great asset. The municipality owes it to the people of Aylmer to ensure that this facility is re-opened as a priority.
