Celebrating Vimy Ridge – in Havana

 

Aylmer/Pontiac residents honoured the centennial of Vimy Ridge, April 9, 2017, at the monument for Canadian veterans within the massive Colon Cemetery in Havana, Cuba. Two Canadian World War II veterans are buried here.

Shown are Manon Gregoire-Fleury and Canada’s military attaché to Cuba, Col. Paul Fleury.  Col. Fleury is serving a four-year posting in the Republic. Mme Gregoire-Fleury is a former sales manager for the Bulletin d’Aylmer.
