CBC news, finally called
Further to your editorial on CBC radio, I say -- finally! It is radio and it is CBC News you are addressing, not the regular programming, but you did not make that clear. CBC’s News office must be called on their sloppiness (repetition, reliance on emotional stories) and lack of content. Perhaps it is, as you say, they have decided to give out “story telling” instead of news reporting. There cannot be both, on a newscast, unless you get into the infamous fake news controversy.
As far as I can see, CBC radio’s News department relies heavily for its foreign news on US State Department press releases. What they have been reporting about Brazil and Venezuela is outrageously biased to the American perspective, whereas there are many other sources for these areas much less biased.
Given all that, how can I rely on their reports from regions I know nothing of, like Korea, China, and the Middle East? This is a serious problem for our “national broadcaster”. I wonder if you have any response from them?
