CBC debate

 

I have followed the debate in your letters about CBC’s services and want to say that it seems to be CBC Ottawa’s news room that is causing the complaints, not all of CBC’s otherwise stellar programming. Ottawa may be responsible for the police reports, missing pets, and “weeping mothers” you have referenced, but is not responsible for national news.  I would not know if they rely on US State Department communiqués as some readers claim. I agree we should expect more from the newsroom in our nation’s capital, but I would oppose any plan to sell off the CBC to private interests.
