Calling all Conservative voters

 

Will the Aylmer Bulletin accept a two-line book review as a Letter to the Editor?  If you will, I urge any voter considering to vote for the "new" Conservative Party of Quebec to at least look through a book, "Les Brutes et la Punaise", by Dominique Payette, who was a journalist and is now a professor at Laval.  The book is about the "radios poubelles"  (trash-radio) which dominate the Quebec City region.  They feed a daily toxic mix of exaggeration, racism, anti-immigrant and mysogeny within a hard-right libertarian political program. The new leader and renovator of the provincial Conservatives was a leader of that world.  
    Just look through this book and check the footnotes for Mr Duhaime's name, quotations and activities.  His Anti-Muslim and anti-Aboriginal statements are shocking -- but he wasn't running for office then.   Don't be afraid of reading in French!  Ms Payette's writing is clear and straightforward,  even for the French-challenged among us, like me.
