LETTER
Bring that bag home
I’d like to follow up on last week’s letter regarding dog owners not picking up the ‘doo’. Can you imagine owners who do pick up but then deposit the bag under the nearest bush or community mail box!!!! That’s what happens in my neighbourhood from inconsiderate (tamest word I could think of) dog owners who frequent North Street between Wilfrid Lavigne Blvd. and Broad Street. It boggles my mind as to how thoughtless some individuals can be. Gatineau bylaw 183-2005 article 70.7 clearly states that this action is an offence and article 91 states that a first time offence is liable to a minimum fine of $300 and up to $1,000. Assuming the individuals in question live in the immediate area, I can’t imagine them willing to risk infuriating their neighbours and/or possibly being fined for their actions. But then again it shouldn’t be a surprise as inconsiderate individuals by definition are insensitive to the feelings and concerns of others. Whoever you are, remember that everyone has a camera on hand these days so give us your best smile when we’re snapping your pic for the bylaw officers. Please do yourself and your neighbours a favour and tote the bag all the way home, or find another pet.
