Brazeau trial in Aylmer double-murder case update

The closing arguments in Ronald Junior (Jun) Brazeau’s trial will be heard on May 7 after the witness testimony and cross-examination process wrapped up in early March. Brazeau is accused of manslaughter in Aylmer’s 2014 double-murder case.

In January 2014, Travis Voutour was found dead inside his Terrasse-Eardley home with his girlfriend Amanda Trottier. Her daughter was found unharmed a few days later.

Brazeau, head of an active local drug trafficking network, accepted his role in Voutour’s death, but never accepted the blame for Trottier’s death.

Brazeau asked René Samson Von Richter to teach Voutour a lesson after the latter stole drugs from Brazeau.

Samson Von Richter, with his girlfriend Sonia Vilon, carried out the fatal crime, and both are serving long sentences.

Vilon, in her early 40s, is serving a reduced 12-year sentence after accepting a plea deal for two counts of manslaughter while Von Richter, only in his mid 20’s, is serving a life sentence with chance for parole after 15 years after pleading guilty to manslaughter in Trottier's death and second-degree murder in Votour's death.
