LETTER
LETTRE
Boulevard Lucerne, westbound lane
Open letter to Councillor Caroline Murray
I am following the advice in the letter from Gary Lemieux in the May 10th Aylmer Bulletin, and have placed another call to the Ville de Gatineau regarding the state of boulevard Lucerne, specifically the westbound lane from Vanier Road to Frank Robinson. I am not convinced that this road can wait until 2024 to be remediated.
The reference number is 1889909. With a service number, the Councillor can follow up, and more citizens will raise this issue in this way.
The westbound lane continues to sink, drivers are dangerously close to the centre line or over it into the other lane, while drivers in the eastbound lane are dangerously close to the centre line avoiding difficult conditions on that lane. The state of this road is increasingly dangerous and I certainly hope that the city increases the priority of the repairs to this road, only one of two major, heavily travelled roadways into Aylmer, before a serious accident occurs.
Surely if this is a case of financial resources, the developers who have profited from the increased population might be approached for a contribution?
