The phrase "Think globally, act locally" has a lot to do with it. Celebrating local business and people reinforces the identity that comes with living in a smaller community. Also there is a good feeling associated with engaging in a positive act that we don’t always have the occasion to do. Finally, to support the Bulletin for providing this positive focus on Aylmer.

I participate every year in Aylmer’s Best because there are so many amazing services, small businesses and people in Aylmer that deserve to be recognized. This yearly contest brings a tremendous amount of pride to our community and it is important that citizens engage annually to ensure that those deserving of recognition are highlighted for the important impact they make.

Aylmer is a wonderful community that keeps growing in part because of the wonderful businesses and the faces behind those businesses that provide amazing services and products. Participating in the Best of Aylmer is a simple but important way to recognize and support our local businesses, to bring attention to the work they are doing and the value they add. I count myself so lucky to live in this community and I've met so many dedicated business owners who care about what they do and the people they serve - it shows in the work they do and it deserves to be recognized.
