Because it is 2016!

Artist Steve Young’s new collection of works is on exhibit at Espace 33. The vernissage, April 29, was at the rue Principale gallery. The evening was set to DJ Lukster’s electronic melodies. The collection includes a number of Steve Young paintings of African masks along with another set of Mr Young’s study of the female form. But the piece inspiring the most ‘selfies’ is the Justin Trudeau piece (pictured above) representing the prime minister taking a photo of himself with an icon of a marijuana leaf on the mobile phone. This painting is entitled “Because it is 2016!”, referencing Mr Trudeau’s response to questions about gender equality.
