Bazar Friperie Moderne: a unique, must-see store for all thrift lovers
Sophie Demers
Bazar Friperie Moderne is in the Glenwood Plaza at 203 chemin d’Aylmer. Jackie Vides, the owner, opened the thrift store three months ago with the goal of having a secondhand store with a more modern feel that provides customers with an enjoyable shopping experience.
The four employees work hard to keep the store meticulously organized and clean so shoppers can easily find everything they are looking for as well as ensure that customers have a seamless and exciting shopping experience. As well as offering quality secondhand goods, Bazar Friperie Moderne, has a second selling local artists and makers products.
Through Bazar Friperie Moderne, Jackie gives back to the community through the store by donating to children in need or to women’s shelters by providing clothing and other necessities. Jackie says that she loves supporting the community and connecting with customers.
“I love supporting local artists and I wanted to incorporate that into the thrift store,” said Jackie. “I am proud of the store and it’s thanks to the community that donated that I am able to run the store, support artists and give back.”
