Bad-driving report
Some drivers' tactics are explainable and others not. Here are five examples:
1) Why do drivers park between two cars when the entire parking lot is open? Last week I was sitting in my car in a mall parking lot when a big SUV pulled up between me and a car on her opposite side. It would have been impossible for that driver to exit her car, she had parked so close to mine. The entire parking lot was empty at 8 am.
2) Why do drivers park beside a lone car far from the entrance to the mall?
3) When there are two left-turn lanes, why do drivers in the outside lane try to get into the inside lane (in your lane) immediately after making the turn? Evidently, they plan to make a right turn shortly after the light changes. The driver takes off like "a bat out of hell" in an effort to get in front of you before the very next right turn can be done.
4) Why do drivers pass you on the highway (as if you are going too slow), then pull back into your lane and proceed to go at the same speed (or even a slightly slower speed) as you are traveling?
5) Why do drivers on the super highways (like the 400 series in Ontario) drive in the extreme left passing lane and with less than a kilometre to go, cross over three lanes to (barely) make the exit ramp? On the Queensway, a panel truck "zoomed" by me in the near passing lane (I was in the slow lane), and nearly clipped my side-view mirror with his mirror -- he made it to the down ramp with just inches to spare.
Throughout all these near misses, I am happy to report that no damage has occurred to my car...yet!
