Aylmer Soccer Club forced to dribble through financial trouble
Members of the Aylmer Soccer Club are facing some difficult choices. At the Annual General Meeting in early December, directors told members about the Club’s short-term financial challenges. In a letter penned by Julie Morissette, board president, she explained that the Club is in dire need of funds.
“To ensure continuity of operations in the coming weeks, it is imperative that the Club succeed in securing important required funds. The funds presently at the Club’s disposal will not be sufficient to cover the requirements between now and the usual time, in March, of entry of funds linked to summer registration.”
Morissette goes on to explain that the club’s deficit stems from the suspension of the Director General and technical director following accusations from former staff members of mistreatment this past summer. “This generated immediate consequential expenses which have had a significant impact on the Club’s reserve of funds,” added club president.
To address the situation, the club set up an Extraordinary General Meeting on December 10 at l’École de la Forêt, 219 Bois Franc Avenue.
