Aylmer’s farmers’ market is moving!

Aylmer’s Fresh Market announced in mid-April that it’s planting its roots in Aylmer’s Memorial Park this summer. This new location will allow the popular Sunday event to accommodate more producers than last year, to the pleasure of Aylmer Councillor Josée Lacasse. “There will be even more fresh local goods and family activities featured this year,” she commented.
With the public’s warm reception last year, market organizers have attracted about 40 vendors (almost double) and have extended the market’s season. Last year, the market started in mid-July and wrapped up at the end of September. This season will run from May 24 to October 4.
One of Councillor Lacasse’s election priorities was to establish a farmer’s market on rue Principale. With APICA and two other organizers, she can say she has realized this goal.
The rookie councillor can now move to her other priorities, including promoting the existing businesses on Principale, increasing the events and festivals at Parc des Cèdres, and improving services at the Lucy Faris public library.
