Aylmer’s Entreprises Mazzola celebrates 25th anniversary
The Mazzola family of Aylmer’s Entreprises Mazzola celebrated the 25th year of business. The festivities, with some 60 friends, colleagues and staff, November 24, was held at the beautiful Château Monsarrat off St Raymond.
Mazzola provides healthy lunches inside schools and daycares, ordered by parents. They service some 70 schools and seven daycares. A not-for-profit program was established to help feed hungry students called Hungry to Help.
Elena Mazzola addressed the party, telling the story of her and Victor Mazzola’s launch of the food preparation business. She relayed that there are parents ordering food for their kids today who were kids when Mazzola started up in Aylmer. She noted these parents loved the food as kids and are happy to order it for their own children. Ms Mazzola explained that many of the meals ordered are donations for kids from teachers. “One teacher explained that she buys these meals for her students because she knows she’ll be able to teach them if they are properly nourished,” said Mazzola.
Mazzola prepares some 3,000 meals every day for students as well as families. Their Vanier Road storefront and kitchen offers healthy prepared food to be heated at home, as well as catering service.
Danna Mazzola, pictured with the microphone in the photo, is one of three Mazzola children. She has taken over as the head of Entreprises Mazzola, as of this past summer. Optimistic about the future of this family business, Danna Mazzola thanked her parents for providing the inspiration and determination to make a difference.
