Aylmerite Briana Victoria did not miss her appearance on the singing show La Voix. The student from Grande-Rivière High School delighted the judges on the first evening of the seventh season of the popular Quebec show. She will contine the adventure with Judge Alex Nevsky, who was the first to turn his chair around during the Gatineau woman’s performance.
The 18-year-old singer performed House of the Rising Sun. She had quickly became attached to this tune, as the sun reminds her of memorable moments she has had with her father. Her father and grandmother, straight from Mexico, also surprised her after her performance, giving life to a moving moment on the stage.
Her decision to participate in the show had been a last-minute one, since there were only two days of pre-auditions in Montreal. Quite simply, her employer had suggested that she try her luck, a piece of advice that she was fortunate to have taken.
The artist, who has a passion for travel, had made the secondary show competition a few years ago. Briana had also sung at the Festival des Montgolfières de Gatineau, before Hubert Lenoir took the stage.
She listened to everything as she grew up, including Amy Winehouse, Shakira and Rihanna.
Although she always considered herself shy, it never stopped her.
A musician with a natural talent, the melody flows in her veins and it’s perfect. The singing started with karaoke performances at school. It helped her to gain confidence in her abilities. Briana was in the arts concentration program at Grande-Rivière. With her art, she wants to bring something “new and different” to the musical world. The sky’s the limit. Briana does not only shine in music, she is passionate about design. The entire Aylmer sector is certainly proud of her. Her next performance at La Voix will take place in the coming weeks, once the judges’ teams are complete. People can follow it on Facebook and Instagram.
