Aylmer Legion sock drive hits 500 pairs
Rose Regimbald and Elisabeth Couture spearheaded the Aylmer Legion sock drive for the Gîte Ami shelter for the homeless. Sunday, February 24, the two, along with other legion members, organized the latest delivery to the Gîte Ami. With over 500 pairs of socks distributed so far, the Legion reminds the population that the homeless still need dry socks on a daily basis. Donations can be made directly to the Legion or at the Bulletin d’Aylmer during weekday office hours.
“We are also collecting disposable razors now and deodorant for the shelter,” explained one volunteer, “but the socks are still the most needed items.”
