The Aylmer Food Centre’s Christmas Market had a great turn out at this year’s fundraising event. The Christmas Market took place on Saturday November 13, at the Ernest-Lattion Communication Centre.
There were 34 participating vendors all except for two were local businesses from the Outaouais region. The vendors were displayed among three showrooms, and shoppers were asked to follow the path instructed to encourage social distance and respect Covid-19 protocols.
Donations were made in forms of raffle tickets, food and beverage purchases and profits from the tables rented all of which went to the Centre. “The part that goes to the Aylmer Food Centre is the table rentals, as well as the coffee and snacks we are walking around with” Lise Bélanger, Director of the Aylmer Food Centre told the Bulletin. Bélanger also told the Bulletin that over 300 people had visited the market by 11 am and by the end of the day the market saw 750 visitors. Approximately 2500$ was raised from the event for the Aylmer Food Centre.
Vendors at the market included clothing, art displays, jewelry, food, crafts, Christmas decorations and more. Shoppers were asked to provide proof of vaccine prior to entering the building.
Members of the Aylmer Food Centre were pleased with the amount of support the community was showing.
