--Alloprof launches stimulating educational tools 

Quebec’s education landscape has changed since the beginning of the pandemic. More than ever, technology is in demand. Working tirelessly to improve its service offering, the homework assistance organization called “Alloprof” announced the launch of new tools to support the learning of elementary and high school students. It offers a Motivational Timer (Minuterie motivante), to guide elementary students in their periods of study and homework, the Potager en péril (Garden in Danger) game, to help students in Grades 4, 5 and 6 review word classes, and, for teens, the Réaction solitaire (Solitary Reaction) game, which allows them to review the balancing of chemical equations, an essential concept of Secondary 4 science. 

--For elementary school students 

The Motivational Timer – a tool designed to make life easier for parents, but also to appeal to children –aims to turn homework and lesson time into an exhilarating countdown. Customizable, this timer allows you to divide the work time by subject and duration according to your child's needs or the teacher's expectations. Between each task, the child is offered a short reward period, in the form of games or challenges lasting approximately 90 seconds. By alternating between homework and games, your child has the opportunity to clear his or her mind, and then concentrate better. 

Reviewing classes of words has never been more fun than with Alloprof's new game, “Potager en péril”. Designed for students in Grades 4, 5 and 6, this game is sure to motivate them. Through this fun and educational adventure, the student embodies a little carrot who undertakes a quest to save his vegetable garden. To do this, he must answer questions by finding nouns, determiners, verbs, adjectives, etc., hidden throughout the garden. The more successful the carrot is, the more it can fight the monster.   

--For high school students 

“Réaction solitaire” is Alloprof's new game, intended to help Secondary 4 students review the balancing of chemical equations, an essential science concept that is the subject of many requests at Alloprof. The game features a character trapped on a deserted island, who must manage to survive and escape. But to do so, he must collect supplies and tools by solving chemical equations. Both fun and challenging, this first game, 100% intended for youngsters nearing the end of high school, has everything to please them. 

To support Secondary 5 students, the organization has also posted online about 100 educational sheets that cover the entire financial education and contemporary world curriculum. To present these complex issues, the sheets are packed with explanations, examples, short definitions, custom maps, charts, diagrams, and more. 

--More support to come 

In January, Alloprof announced an increase in its offer to support students thanks to an investment from the Ministry of Education. Since then, the organization has been open on Sundays, has doubled its number of teachers and has launched a Support Zone and chat service. The organization will also be offering mini recovery sessions in order to help high school students consolidate priority learning for end-of-year exams. Consisting of a video interspersed with interactive questions, 50 mini recovery sessions will be launched in mid-May, with Alloprof planning to add 100 more over the next few months.
